Understanding Short-Term Stays

For citizens of both Canada and the United States holding valid passports, Spain, as part of the Schengen Area, permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism, business engagements, or short-term studies. It is essential for travelers to meticulously track their time within the Schengen Area to ensure compliance with these regulations. For stays exceeding this 90-day limit, a specific long-stay visa obtained prior to travel is mandatory.
